Safety

LNG is a cryogenic (temperature below −150 °C), transparent, colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-corrosive liquid that is approximately half as light as water. LNG has been actively used worldwide for about 50 years. During these years, the entire LNG sector has been considered relatively safe.
- Safety has been achieved through the interaction of several factors. First, the technical equipment and handling of the entire LNG industry have been organized primarily with safety in mind.
- Secondly, the chemical and physical properties of LNG are well known and have been taken into account when developing the technical solutions used.
- Thirdly, the standards, requirements and norms of the entire LNG industry have been drawn up in such a way that safety is maximally guaranteed.
