BioLNG in transport
We take responsibility for the natural environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which is why we are expanding our range of BioLNG and BioCNG products under the FIT 55 by JetGas line. Thanks to the use of BioJet Blend products, our clients will be able to meet the goals set in the European RED II and RED III directives and be part of the green transformation.
Even today, considering CO₂ emission charges in some EU countries, such as Germany, BioLNG for heavy transport is several dozen percent cheaper than traditional diesel. Once ETS2 comes into force, this trend is expected to become the norm across the EU, and BioLNG may revolutionize heavy transport. With its expertise and BioJet Blend products from the FIT55 line, JetGas will help you become part of this revolution.

Why is BioLNG a more environmentally friendly fuel than LNG?
BioLNG (LBM) is a fuel derived from renewable sources by liquefying biomethane produced in biogas plants from waste such as agricultural or animal by-products.
When BioLNG is burned, only carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere—CO₂ that was previously absorbed from the environment during the growth of plants from which the waste used in biogas plants originates.
In this sense, when burning BioLNG in engines, we release only CO₂ that was recently captured from the atmosphere, achieving a zero or even negative emission balance.
Does BioLNG (LBM) have worse combustion properties and lower calorific value compared to LNG?
No, BioLNG (also known as LBM – Liquefied Biomethane) does not differ significantly in energy properties from traditional LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). Both BioLNG and LNG consist predominantly – around 98% – of methane (CH₄). As a result, both fuels have very similar calorific values and combustion properties.
